The immature prince is forced to flee from his home and goes into self-imposed banishment lasting a long period of time. During this exile, he runs into new acquaintances, Timon and Pumbaa, who live a worry-free lifestyle and influence him to do the same. the young prince's happy-go-lucky mindset then turns upside down when he once more meets his long-time companion Nala, who reveals the tyranny of Scar to him and requests him to save the people of his land.

This complicated plot of heartbreak, strong bonds, and eventual redemption is amplified by the original film's music, written by Elton John and Tim Rice.
