The musical Lion King tells the story of the struggles of the young Lion Prince Simba, who prematurely is forced to face his role of becoming the King of the Pride Lands due to the unexpected death of his father, Mufasa. Mufasa, who is a beloved King by all of the territory he rules, suffers betrayal from from Scar, Simba’s uncle, which ends in his murder. This forces the young prince into into exile for a long period of time, and this is where Simba's long journey and his subsequent homecoming to The Pride Lands and his seat on the throne.
Taken from the original 1994 motion picture of the same title produced by Disney, The Lion King was skillfully transformed to the Broadway medium by director Julie Taymor and the outstanding cast and production crew. Its launch in the 90s was a fresh addition to theater, being received positively by critics.
